The Awash Melkasa Aluminum Sulfate and Sulfuric Acid Factory will spend 155 million birr for setting up a new hydrogen peroxide factory in Ethiopia.
The chemicals that the Awash Melkasa factory produces, basically find utility in production of textile goods.
Admasu Tabaeto, Production and Technical Support Process Owner with Awash Melkasa, said construction work in respect of the new factory would commence soon.
The new plant, he said, will have a production capacity of 13,600 tons of aluminium sulphate and 17,000 tons of sulphuric acid per annum.
Inability to access the market caused Awash Melkasa to grapple with financial losses for years together, Admasu said. However, now as the factory has gained better access to markets, it is no longer enduring losses, Admasu added.
The factory is now all set to sell its output in domestic markets and export the same to Sudan, he added.
