Around 60 percent of total textiles produced in Indonesia are manufactured in the West Java region, and hence the sector has always received special attention from the West Java provincial government.

In West Java, textile and garment industries are spread across the cities of Jakarta, Bandung, Sumedang, Bogor, Cirebon, Sukabumi and Purwakarta.

The textile sector of the region is a leading employer and foreign exchange generator for the country, and has also contributed in the development of the region's economy.
