Wide Business to launch cotton farming in Ethiopia

Bura Agro Integrated Company, a firm recently constituted by Wide Business Plc, will set up an agro-commercial farm in southern Ethiopia, with an investment of about 25 million birr.
The farm would have irrigation facilities and the firm will cultivate cotton on 400 hectares of land, which is expected to annually yield 30 quintals of cotton per hectare.
The cotton grown on the farm would be marketed to cotton and textile factories in Ethiopia.
In addition to the agro-commercial farm, the company has also leased a 5000 sq m of land in Hawassa, the capital of SNNPRs province, to establish an agro industrial processing unit.
