ATEVAL to help Spanish firms register as UN suppliers

A conference on how to prepare and bid for UN tenders is being organized for textile suppliers by the Textile Association of Valencia (ATEVAL), in association with the Valencian Export Institute (IVEX), as part of ATEVAL Day, on February 28, 2012.
The conference will highlight the opportunity for textile companies to bid for supplying to the United Nations. The ATEVAL members will get to understand the procedure for filling international tenders floated by the UN and to register themselves as supplier to the UN.
Leila Bachetarzi, Director of ATEVAL's Trade Promotion Department, will explain how participation in UN's international projects can help the sector become more competitive and increase its reach across the globe.
This will be followed by a presentation by Begoña Sánchez, Head of the Textile-Home in IVEX, on the services provided by the Institute of International Tenders, and the need for maintaining close cooperation between the Institute and ATEVAL to boost the country's textile sector.
A presentation on the personalized services offered by ATEVAL, urging the textile companies to involve in the projects already identified and implemented, will be made by Laura Santos, Head of ATEVAL's Tenders Programme.
Lastly, Enrique del Castillo, Head of IVEX Tenders, will describe the procedure for registering as a supplier to the UN, with the help of case studies of textile companies bidding for the UN tenders in the past. He will also inform about the documents that need to be submitted and the process to be followed while submitting an international tender.
