Tap immense export potential of Pak handicrafts - LCCI

With rising demand in overseas markets, there is immense scope for Pakistan's handicraft export industry, and there is a need to better tap this segment, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Senior Vice President Kashif Younis Meher said.
During a presentation on 'Development of Art and Craft', organized by the Standing Committee on Handicrafts, the LCCI official said Pakistan's handicrafts always had a better export potential as compared to other products.
Owing to the exclusivity in terms of traditional and historical recognition, handicrafts still remains a promising industry in Pakistan, in spite of tough competition faced from countries like Taiwan, Indonesia, China, Philippines and Korea, he added.
Mentioning the favourable and prolific market for Pakistani handicrafts, Mr. Meher stated that countries like Britain, France, Germany, Italy, USA, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Japan were the key export destinations for Pakistani handicrafts.
