Iranian hand-woven carpet exports grow

Hand-woven carpets have touched US $560 million in the current fiscal, the Head of National Iranian Carpet Center revealed.
Mohammad Baqer Aqa-Alikhani was addressing a meeting of hand-woven carpet manufacturers and exporters in Qazvin, located in the Northern Province.
He anticipates that the figure could hit $1 billion in the near future.
In the previous fiscal year 2010-11, Iran exported hand-woven carpets amounting to $556 million. The Iranian fiscal year begins on March 20.
These Persian carpets are exported to over a 100 countries across the globe.
