Turnaround at Dia-Nitrix Mizushima ACN plant in Q3

Japan based ACN producer - Dia-Nitrix plans to undertake maintenance turnaround at its plant based in Otake in the third quarter of 2012.
Dia-Nitrix operates two ACN plants in Japan. The Otake ACN plant has a production capacity of 90,000 mt/year and the ACN output at Mizushima plant is 115,000 mt/year.
A senior company official of Dia Nitrix informed fibre2fashion that the ACN plant located at Mizushima was under turnaround from February 20 and has been restarted on April 4, 2012.
He added that the plant located at Otake will be going for a maintenance turnaround in September-end and will remain shutdown for a period of around 40 days.
On being asked to comment on current ACN price trends, he said, “Asian ACN price was unchanged, due to which, customers have adopted a stance of wait and watch”.
“They are expecting that ACN prices will either increase or decrease and according to market experts, ACN demand from plastic sector is soft", the official added.
