DSM Dyneema appoints distribution partner for US

Atkins & Pearce, Inc., a US-based supplier catering to the textile industry, has been appointed by DSM Dyneema as its premium distribution partner for North and Central America and Mexico with immediate effect.
Atkins & Pearce would handle marketing and distribution of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibre produced by DSM Dyneema, and would extend application engineering expertise and technical services like fibre enhancement capacities to the consumers in Canada, Mexico, United States and Central America.
Further, while servicing the existing markets, the supplier firm would also actively try to develop new markets for UHMWPE fibre.
According to DMS Dyneema Regional Manager (Americas) Jeff Bruel, the strategic alliance with Atkins & Pearce comes as a part of DSM Dyneema's efforts to present the Central American and North American textile industries with high-performance sustainable fibre supply and servicing solutions.
Benefits would accrue to the customers in the form of reduced lead times, growth of value-added application, technical services and enhanced collaboration, which can drive business growth, he said.
Jeb Head, owner of Atkins & Pearce, said by associating with DSM Dyneema they would be able to cater to the growing demand for high-performance UHMWPE fibre in the region.
According to Mr. Head, Atkins & Pearce's customization capacity, expertise in textile braiding and other fibre technology and positive approach towards service would persuade existing as well as new customers to use DSM Dyneema's products, as it would offer a clear competitive advantage.
With almost 200 years of experience as a key manufacturer of precision engineered textiles, Atkins & Pearce has clocked major technical developments in textile coatings and has developed processing capacity and technology for high-performance fibres.
Presently, the firm is focused on presenting the textile industry with new technologies in the form of customized fibre solutions.
The Dyneema brand is part of the Netherlands-based DSM, one of the world's leading life and material sciences companies, with annual sales of €9 billion and a global workforce of around 22,000 people.
