The Chinese textile industry has proposed to double textile output by 2020 in comparison to those attained in 2010.
A 10-year plan drawn by the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) also aims to boost export value of textiles and apparels to US $400 billion by 2020.
To meet these ambitious targets, CNTAC has said that, industrial output value of big textile enterprises should achieve an average increase of 12.5 percent per year during the period.
Export value of textiles and apparel should rise by about 7 percent per year, of which, annual growth rate should average 7.5 percent during the 12th Five-Year Plan, and 6 percent during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
Textile enterprises should also invest in technological up-gradation of their plant and equipment and more efforts will need to be put on research and development of new products, CNTAC said.
