PX & MEG prices decline; PTA improves

Paraxylene (PX) prices declined in Asia. In S E Asian market, PX prices went down and were quoted in the range of US$ 1455/ton to US$ 1460/ton. In F E Asian region, PX prices dipped and were assessed in the range of US$ 1435/ton to US$ 1440/ton. PX imported from Taiwanese market stayed steady in the range of US$ 1475/ton to US$ 1480/ton.

PTA prices went up in the Asian market. In S E Asian countries, PTA prices surged up and were quoted in the range of US$ 1095 to US$ 1100/ton. In F E Asian market, PX prices were assessed at US$ 1095/ton. PTA imported from Taiwanese market declined sharply and were offered at US$ 1085/ton to US$ 1090/ton. In Chinese domestic market, PTA prices remained unchanged in the range RMB 8400/ton to RMB 8450/ton.

Ethylene prices showed mix reaction in the Asian region. In S E Asian countries, Ethylene prices went down and prevailed in the range of US$ 1140/ton to US$ 1145/ton. In F E Asian region, Ethylene price remained stable at US$ 1230/ton.

In the US market, Ethylene prices plunged down and were quoted in the range of 52.00 cents/pound to 52.50 cents/pound. Ethylene prices were steady in European international market, while they dropped in the domestic market, and were assessed at US$ 1365/ton and € 1100/ton, respectively.

MEG prices plunged down in the Asian market. In S E Asian region, MEG prices decreased and were quoted in between US$ 965/ton and US$ 970/ton. In China market, MEG prices plunged down and were quoted in the range of US$ 970/ton to US$ 975/ton. In Chinese domestic market, MEG prices slightly declined and hovered in the range RMB 7375/ton to RMB 7425/ton.

In S E Asian countries, BG PET Chips prices stayed steady in the range of US$ 1450/ton to US$ 1460/ton. In F E Asian market, selling offers were around US$ 1450/ton for export goods. In Chinese market, BG PET Chip prices dropped down and were offered at RMB 10650/ton.

In Korean markets, FG PET Chips prices stayed stable in the range of US$ 1290/ton to US$ 1300/ton. In Indian market, FOB based price was assessed in the range of US$ 1340/ton to US$ 1345/ton. In Chinese market, FG PET Chip prices went down and hovered in the range of RMB 10250/ton to RMB 10300/ton.

PSF prices remained steady in the Asian market. In F E Asian market, PSF prices were quoted at US$ 1575/ton. In S E Asian market, PSF selling offers were marked at US$ 1475/ton. In Chinese domestic market, PSF prices were steady and were quoted in the range of RMB 11000/ton to RMB 11050/ton.

In Chinese domestic market, Polyester POY and FDY prices went down and were marked at RMB 11150/ton and RMB 11200/ton, respectively, while DTY prices remained steady at RMB 12500/ton. In export market, offers for POY and FDY declined and were quoted at US$ 1505/ton and US$ 1500/ton, respectively, whilst DTY price remained stable at US$ 1685/ton.
