Cotton production in Bootheel in Missouri is expected to increase in the new season on the back of an increase in cotton acreage.
Bootheel cotton farmers are expected to plant cotton in about 400,000 acres against 375,000 last season, a spokesperson of association body - The Cotton Board said.
Farmlands in Bootheel have an advantage, since most of them are irrigated, which helps in yielding a consistent cotton crop, he said.
