Sales up 3.5% at Hancock Fabrics in Q1 FY'12

the quarter decreased by $0.9 million to $26.4 million or 41.2% of sales compared to $27.3 million or 44.1% of sales for the first quarter of the prior year.
Expense savings were experienced in all areas other than advertising during the quarter. The additional advertising spend in order to drive sales and margin dollars was a result of the increased promotional activity.
