Chinese May PTA imports up from April

Chinese PTA imports in May fell from a year earlier, but grew from the previous month, according to custom statistics.
China's imports of PTA touched 385,900 tons in May 2012, down 13,300 tons or 3.33 percent from May 2011. However, it rose by 41,600 tons or 12.08 percent from April 2012.
The average import price was US $1,154 / ton in May, down 0.98 percent compared with the average price in April, and 14.62 percent from the same period last year.
