INEOS Technologies confirms that it has licensed its Innovene G process and Innovene S process for the manufacture of linear low density and high density polyethylene products to the ZapSibNeftekhim production complex of Sibur in Tobolsk, Russia.

The two 400 kta Innovene G plants and the two 350 kta Innovene S plants will produce the full range of Ziegler monomodal, Ziegler bimodal, Chromium and metallocene products. The ZapSibNeftekhim plants will be ideally positioned to deliver speciality and commodity polyethylene products for the Russian and export markets.

Peter Williams, CEO of INEOS Technologies, commented: "We are delighted to have been selected by SIBUR as their PE licensing partner on this major project. We look forward to working with SIBUR to deliver a first class manufacturing asset characterised by excellent economics, operational robustness, and the high product quality required to meet current and future market demands”

Sibur commented that “while selecting licensors for its new complex, SIBUR aimed at getting the world’s most advanced and reliable petrochemical technologies to maximise performance and ensure environmental safety of the new plants.”

Sibur also has a 500 Ktpa polypropylene licence at Tobolsk using INEOS’ proprietary Innovene PP Process soon to be in operation in Western Siberia.
