China's PTA spot market in wait-and-watch mode

The spot market of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) in China is currently in strong wait-and-watch mode.
At the beginning of the week, sporadic offers for PTA in East China market were around 7,500 yuan/ton or higher, while downstream buyers quoted price in the range of 7,400-7,450 yuan/ton.
For Taiwan produced goods, sellers quoted price of around US$ 1,000/ton, while buyers bid for US$ 980-990/ton.
For Korea produced PTA, the offer price was around US$ 990/ton, whereas counteroffers were for US$ 970/ton.
However, there was no report of any deal being finalized.
