Mr. Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of the western Indian state of Gujarat, has invited Japanese firms to invest in the state’s textile sector.

On the last day of his four-day visit to woo Japanese investors, Mr. Modi said the textile policy of Gujarat is based on the principle of 5F – Farm, Fibre, Fabric, Fashion and Foreign.

The Chief Minister said the bond between Japan and Gujarat has become stronger since his last visit to Japan in 2007.

He enlisted proactive pro-people good governance (P2G2), transparent and environment-friendly policies, peaceful and skilled manpower, and similarities in culture as the things that will make the Japanese feel at home in Gujarat.

Talking about infrastructure, the Chief Minister said that a major portion of the ongoing Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, which is being constructed in partnership with Japan, goes through Gujarat.
