Environmentally friendly methods

Textil Santanderina, S.A. takes on special responsibilities where environmental protection and sustainability are concerned. The company has been certified as an environmentally friendly production site according to OEKO-TEX Standard 1000 since 2008.

The prerequisites for this award are compliance with set criteria for avoiding or limiting harmful substances in production, meeting of strict limit values for waste water and exhaust air, optimised use of energy as well as certain health and safety measures.

For this, all processes in spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing are constantly subject to an efficient quality and environmental management system.

A special highlight in the framework of realising innovative processes for protecting the environment is the revolutionary dying method ECO-SANDYE which allows countless individual creative fading effects while still providing resource savings of up to 90 % for water and 40 % for energy. The significantly faster dyeing process furthermore ensures improved fibre protection for the fabrics.

Installing state-of-the-art energy and water saving machinery in different areas can provide total energy savings of around 15 % to 20 % in future. Water savings of up to 3.5 m³ per hour are provided by a recycling model developed in-house, made possible by creating a closed cooling circuit within the dyeworks. Textil Santanderina, S.A. takes on social responsibility in the form of especially developed programmes for working conditions, health and safety and basic and advanced training.
