In Korea and S.E. Asia, PX prices were stable in the reporting week due to sluggish support from the downstream buyers. Prices were assessed at US$ 1450-1465/ton FOB Korea and US$ 1455-1475/ton CFR S.E. Asia respectively.
In Europe, PX prices went up slightly in same week. The price rise was supported on the back of reports of a higher initial settlement of PX contract prices for September in Europe. P-Xylene prices were assessed during the week at US$ 1350-1365/ton FOB Rotterdam. Initial contract prices for September were settled at € 1190/ton FD NWE mark, higher by € 60/ton as compared to the last month contract prices.
In US, PX prices remained steady in the week. In the initial days of last week, prices were assessed at US$ 1395/ton lower by US$ 10/ton, as compared to the same period of the previous week. Speculators witnessed the spot prices of P-Xylene in the range of US$ 1395-1425/ton FD US.
