Suppliers adapt to new Asian business
Acknowledging the challenging business environment, suppliers at the show were proactive in finding new contacts, having turned their attention to Asia, particularly China. Tony Tse, who handles marketing for Advansa, a bedding materials supplier said, “We are happy with the attention we’ve been getting here, especially the new Asian business.”
It was much the same for the first time Belgian suppliers in the new Belgium Pavilion, as their products proved to be attractive for buyers from Asian countries and regions. Koen Deruyck, Managing Director for TissatDeslee Interior Fabrics, Belgium commented “China, Australia and New Zealand are our next target markets. We have been doing very well at the fair. This show is the kind of place where you can buy materials, see what others are doing and generate new business, all at once,” he added.
