Against the backdrop of a changing worldwide home textiles market, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition held on 28 – 30 August 2012 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. A record-breaking 1,331 number of exhibitors from 29 countries and regions and 39,035 buyers from 100 countries and regions attended the show with aims to find various business solutions for the evolving market.

Wendy Wen, Director, Trade Fairs for Messe Frankurt (HK) Ltd was pleased with the results of the fair: “The positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors reassures us that Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is a trusted business and trend information exchange platform for the global home textile industry.”

Suppliers adapt to new Asian business

Acknowledging the challenging business environment, suppliers at the show were proactive in finding new contacts, having turned their attention to Asia, particularly China. Tony Tse, who handles marketing for Advansa, a bedding materials supplier said, “We are happy with the attention we’ve been getting here, especially the new Asian business.”

It was much the same for the first time Belgian suppliers in the new Belgium Pavilion, as their products proved to be attractive for buyers from Asian countries and regions. Koen Deruyck, Managing Director for TissatDeslee Interior Fabrics, Belgium commented “China, Australia and New Zealand are our next target markets. We have been doing very well at the fair. This show is the kind of place where you can buy materials, see what others are doing and generate new business, all at once,” he added.
