China's ethylene capacity to grow enormously by 2015

Ethylene production capacity of China will continue to rise during the coming years and it is expected to touch 25.56 million tons per year by 2015, up from the current capacity of 15 million tons, according to the China Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering Institute.
The growth in China’s ethylene production capacity will be due to foreign investors still exuding confidence in China’s long-term energy market, in spite of the country’s economic growth slowing down at present.
The demand for ethylene, used as a raw material in textile industry, is likely to increase at a rate of 5-7 percent per year till 2015.
