Low production forces Indian jute mill to shutdown

Howrah-based Delta Jute Mill has shut operations rendering around 3,500 employees working at the mill jobless.
The company said it had to suspend work owing to low production.
The jute mill was reopened only nine months earlier.
West Bengal’s Minister of Labour, Mr. Purnendu Basu, has assured assistance to workers who lost job due to closure of the jute mill.
