Dow Microbial Control increases regulatory investments

Dow Microbial Control, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company, announced that significant increases in its regulatory investments in recent years have enabled its customers to move toward advanced sustainable microbial control technologies. Starting with a concentrated program in 2009, Dow Microbial Control has pushed the industry to think beyond biocides and to take a more holistic, focused and comprehensive look at innovative microbial control solutions. 

The result will be a $50 million investment by 2014, with plans to further develop and commercialize more advanced microbial control technologies that will lead the industry toward an environmentally preferred suite of new technologies.
 
Dow Microbial Control is the longtime industry leader, offering dedicated Customer Application Centers and state-of-the-art microbiology laboratories located strategically around the world. With this global commitment, Dow Microbial Control is able to fully support its products and technologies, enabling customers to optimize their products and processes. “Dow Microbial Control’s ongoing commitment and investment in its regulatory expertise and resources helps the business successfully navigate the extremely complex regulatory environment for our customers,” said Greg Bradley, associate director of regulatory sciences and product sustainability for Dow Microbial Control. 
 
“This investment also enables customers to fully meet ongoing compliance requirements, such as the U.S. EPA’s re-registration, the European Union’s BPD/BPR (Biocidal Product Directive/Regulation) and other country-driven regulatory schemes and regulations.”
 
Dow Microbial Control plans to announce additional investements in its advanced sustainable microbial control technologies as they are finalized. “These investments are a major reason why Dow Microbial Control continues to lead the industry and bring comprehensive, value-added solutions to our customers,” noted Bradley.
