Usha International contemporizes sewing with LSR students

Usha International, India’s leading manufacturer and marketer of consumer durables and appliances, announces a three day long experiential workshop for Lady Shriram College (LSR) girls. The practicum offers a learning platform for creativity. The aim of the workshop is to introduce sewing as a creative expression. The workshop is being organized during the ongoing LSR Annual Sports Festival, held at LSR campus, being sponsored by Usha International. Everyday a winner will be selected through lucky draw and will be given an Usha Janome sewing machine on the final day of the meet that is Monday, 29th October.

The creative workshop received an overwhelming response with 30 participants on everyday. The participants freely expressed their creativity and enjoyed making quirky and funky mobile covers, hand bags and decorative items with the Zig Zag, embroidery and built in memory features of Usha Janome sewing machines.  Souyma Garg, Final year student of Sociology honors and participant at the workshop shares excitedly “I always thought that operating an automatic machine was so difficult. This workshop is an eye opener for me and I look forward to creating my own personalized designs.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Harvinder Singh, Senior Vice-President, Sewing Machines, said  “ Usha International is the market leader in sewing machines in India. Recently USHA launched Dream Maker Series under its Usha Janome range. Dream maker is a technologically advanced machine which offers features such as mirror editing, 120 built in stitch functions, and variable speed control. The USHA Janome range includes automatic zigzag, computerised, and Memory Craft machines, with in-built features such as PC card port, USB memory key compatibility, expandable built-in memory, embroidery design re-sizing capability and other unique features to create innumerable creative design possibilities.

Usha organizes and sponsors various sporting events such as the Indian Golf Union ladies golf tour, Mawana Marathon in Delhi, and Ultimate Frisbee.
