The textile sectors of India and Pakistan have been urged to collaborate for mutual gain by the Synthetic and Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council of India (SRTEPC).

Mr. Vinod K Ladia, Chairman of SRTEPC, opined that since the two countries share similar business trends in textile sector, the cotton growers and textile manufacturers of both the countries should join hands together, rather than competing with each other.

Mr, Ladia was speaking at an exhibition organized by Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) and SRTECP which showcased textile products from 40 leading Indian brands at Karachi.

During the exhibition, Mr. Ladia and Mr. Agar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate members of both organizations.

Representatives of both SRTEPC and KCCI stressed on the importance of improved trade relations between two countries.

Mr. Muhammad Haroon Agar, President of KCCI, said both the governments have agreed on boosting trade between them and have also agreed to liberalize visa system with advantage of entries to multiple cities.

SRTEPC connects Indian exporters of man-made fibre with overseas buyers and it also organizes exhibitions of textile products.
