Polyester raw material prices continue to shoot up

Paraxylene (PX) prices surged in the Asian market. In S E Asian region, PX prices increased in the range of US$ 1635/ton to US$ 1640/ton. In F E Asian market, PX prices were quoted at US$ 1620/ton. Prices of PX imported from Taiwanese market surged and were quoted in the range of US$ 1635/ton to US$ 1640/ton.

PTA prices increased in Asian markets. In S E Asian market, PTA prices went up in the range of US$ 1165/ton to US$ 1170/ton. In F E Asian market, PTA prices were quoted at US$ 1175/ton. Prices of PTA imported from Taiwanese market surged and were offered in the range of US$ 1160/ton to US$ 1165/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices stayed steady in the range of RMB 8525/ton to RMB 8575/ton.

Ethylene prices showed mixed trend in the Asian region. In S E Asian market, Ethylene prices surged in the range of US$ 1295/ton to US$ 1300/ton. In F E Asian region, Ethylene prices were offered at US$ 1195/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices increased in the range of 60.50 cents/pound to 61.00 cents/pound. Ethylene prices kept stable in European international and domestic markets at US$ 1380/ton and € 1055/ton, respectively.

MEG prices increased in the Asian region. In S E Asian region, MEG prices surged and were quoted at US$ 1175/ton. In China market, MEG prices increased in the range of US$ 1160/ton to US$ 1165/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices went up in the range of RMB 8775/ton to RMB 8825/ton.

In S E Asian region, BG PET Chips prices were stable in the range of US$ 1470/ton to US$ 1520/ton and some deals were discussed in the range of US$ 1470/ton to US$ 1510/ton. In F E Asian market, selling offers were assessed in the range US$ 1440/ton to US$ 1480/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices remained stable at RMB 10600/ton.

In Korean market, FG PET Chips prices continued to be stable in the range of US$ 1340/ton to US$ 1370/ton. In Indian market, FOB based prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1350/ton to US$ 1390/ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips prices stayed stable and were assessed in the range of RMB 10400/ton to RMB 10450/ton.

PSF prices surged in the Asian region. In F E Asian region, PSF prices were offered at 1605/ton. In S E Asian market, PSF prices were quoted at US$ 1595/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices went up and were offered in the range of RMB 11050/ton to RMB 11075/ton.

In the Chinese domestic market, Polyester POY, DTY and FDY prices surged and were quoted at RMB 11350/ton, RMB 12750/ton and RMB 11625/ton, respectively. In export market, offers for POY, DTY and FDY increased and were offered at US$ 1565/ton, US$ 1740/ton and US$ 1585/ton, respectively.
