Japan's cotton yarn imports increase in Nov'12

The overall imports of cotton yarn by Japan increased by 2.4 percent month-on-month or 646 bales to 27,139 bales in November 2012, according to the data released by the Japan Spinners’ Association.
 
The increase in total cotton yarn imports by Japan included a rise of 994 bales or 9 percent month-on-month in combed yarn imports, which rose to 12,071 bales.
 
The association attributed the rise in Japanese cotton yarn imports to the onset of demand season.
 
Japan’s cotton yarn imports from India increased by 549 bales or 15.8 percent month-on-month to 4,013 bales during November 2012. 
 
However, cotton yarn imports from Indonesia declined by 548 bales or 5.5 percent m-o-m to 9,424 bales. Cotton yarn imports from Pakistan also dipped 851 bales or 9.9 percent m-o-m to 7,725 bales during the month.
