During late August to early September, average cotton price in China’s domestic market was 18,520 yuan/ton, while price of cotton imported from other countries was 13,060 yuan/ton, including one percent tariff and VAT. Thus, the price gap was 5,460 yuan/ton, which is a record, according to the statistics of the China Textile Industry Association.
