Chinese VSF price rebounds in New Year

11 Jan '13
1 min read

The price of viscose staple fibre (VSF) in China showed a declining trend for most part of 2012, and hit its lowest point of 13,600 yuan/ton on December 13, 2012.

However, VSF price started showing a rising trend thereafter and the price increased to 14,150 yuan/ton on January 8, 2013.

Market analysts expect the rising trend to continue for two reasons. First, the existing price gap between VSF and cotton will push VSF prices upwards.

Second, intermediate textile producers like spinning, weaving, dyeing and other enterprises are expected to start procuring textile raw materials from this month, in view of the approaching peak season in March and April.
