“Techtextil is the world’s leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, and the industry’s most important innovation platform. New ideas, unconventional thinking and future-oriented visions in the field of technical textiles are welcome there”, says Michael Jänecke, Brand Management Director, Technical Textiles / Techtextil.
“With the biennial Techtextil and Avantex Innovation Awards, we not only honour these new developments but also promote the dialogue between developers, manufacturers and users in all fields of textile research and practice.”
The closing date for receipt of projects is 11 March 2013. The competitions for the awards are open to all developments completed after 1 July 2011, which have not won any other award. Entries are invited from companies, institutes, universities, polytechnics and individuals from all around the world. All award-winning projects will be presented at a special exhibition at Techtextil.
Techtextil and Avantex Innovation Awards given for innovations in the textile and apparel industries
The Techtextil Innovation Award is given in the following categories: Research, New Materials, Products, Technologies and Applications. The projects must be relevant to the production or use of technical textiles, nonwovens or textile-reinforced materials.
The Avantex Innovation Award is presented for new developments, fashion aspects, new technologies and innovations in the field of functional apparel. The condition in this case is that the development be connected with the value chain of the apparel industry. A jury of ten experts will choose the winners of the Techtextil and Avantex Innovation Awards before the fair.
Techtextil is held concurrently with Texprocess, Leading International Trade Fair for Processing Textile and Flexible Materials, and runs from 10 to 13 June 2013. At Texprocess, manufacturers from all over the world present their high-tech solutions for the apparel industry and textile processing. The spectrum of products ranges from design, pattern development and cutting, via sewing and joining, to embroidery, textile finishing, IT and logistics.
