Production has resumed at Geleen and Sittard sites in Netherlands, belonging to Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) Europe, after the strike was called of by the Labour Union last week.

The production at SABIC’s two naphtha crackers and other facilities was affected due to a strike by the Labour Union since January 31, 2013.

However, all employees have now resumed normal duties after the strike was called off on February 5, and affected plants are now returning to normal operational capacities, the company said in a statement to fibre2fashion.

Due to the limited magnitude of the industrial action taken, there has been barely any material business impact and SABIC has been able to fulfill all of its customer commitments during the period, the statement added.

SABIC Europe is a subsidiary of SABIC, focusing on polyolefins, with its head office located in Sittard, Netherlands.

SABIC Europe owns a network of sales offices, a logistic supply hub and three petrochemical production sites in Europe including Geleen in Netherlands, Teesside in the United Kingdom and Gelsenkirchen in Germany.
