MAS Holdings was declared winner of the prestigious Women’s Empowerment Corporate Leader 2012 award by The New Economy (TNE), a global multimedia platform that captures and commends the spirit of thought leadership.

With the company’s ever present focus on employee empowerment and sustainability practices, MAS has set long standing benchmarks throughout their 25 year old history in the apparel industry, both regionally and globally as ‘Pioneers of Change’.

Deshamanya Mahesh Amalean stated “I accept this award with great humility on behalf of my team at MAS Holdings that has been working with our women associates for the past decade on programs that enhance their skills and knowledge, empowering them to be better leaders at work and within their communities. “Empowerment” is an idea that evolved from our inception and is now a key business principle and part of who we are today.”

With a quarterly magazine and website focusing on innovative, transparent, economically and socially sustainable global business models, The New Economy promotes discussion and investment opportunities across enterprise sectors that are shaping the future; MAS Holdings was nominated and shortlisted as one of the foremost corporates in the region that has been making a significant impact within the communities in which they operate, especially amongst their female workforce.

With a reach that includes a network of prominent decision-makers worldwide, The New Economy’s awards are acknowledged by the world’s media for recognizing leaders across various sectors involving energy, technology and sustainability among others.

They expanded this reach by launching Women’s Empowerment Corporate Leadership Awards, highlighting the importance of the global female workforce as a key element for economic and social prosperity, both within the public and private spheres.
