Prices for skirting type wools eased on Tuesday and continued in that manner on Wednesday, in line with the downward movement in fleece types. The market steadied somewhat on Thursday, but remained under pressure. It was also a weaker market for crossbred wool after the better showing in recent weeks. Oddments, as usual, had mixed results without any major change during the week.Buyers for China were dominant, with support from buyers for Europe, India and Korea.
Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 46,122 bales are currently rostered for sale. This will be followed by the Easter break in Week 40. The present estimate for the following sale (Week 41) is 50,670 bales; an increase of 8.7% over the two sale period when compared with last year.
