DOMOTEX asia/Chinafloor opens today

DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR has proudly become through the years the place and time where the flooring industry not only boasts its business, but also intensively interacts and get inspired. In 2013, the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre will host around 1,200 exhibitors in 130,000sqm space.

During the last year the global economy has not yet recovered from the crisis in 2008/2009. However, as a major country for the production, consumption and export of decorative materials all over the world, China and its macroeconomic fundamentals are still turning for the best. At the end of 2012, the “tail-raising” of both macroeconomic data and real estate market data brought optimism and hope for an industrial recovery. 

The 15th edition of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR has been scheduled under this favorable background. One week before the show opening 24,516 visitors had already pre-registered from China and abroad to attend this annual event.

A full program studied by the show organizers to serve the great variety and more and more vertically integrated visitors’ profiles has been developed to guide industry players through the developments and towards the future trends of the flooring industry.

The Wood Flooring Forum held one day before the show opening and presenting the official reports of China and international markets, the Shanghai Architect Fair gathering architects and designers from China and abroad, the Carpet Technology Forum focusing on green solutions and environmental protection, the China Flooring Retail Conference looking into the e-commerce trends, and the China Warehouse and Logistic Forum, are some of the events associated with this unique show.

Moreover in 2013, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR places emphasis on new and innovative products. The InnovAction flooring program will present more than 300 products all over the show ground and additionally spotlight some of them in a dedicated area giving exhibitors two opportunities to showcase their products and visitors an easy way to locate some of the newest and innovative products at the show.

Among the 300 products, visitors will have the opportunity to see:

Refreshfiber - the first post consumer solution-dyed nylon 6.6 carpet fibers manufactured and exhibited by Taicang Universal Fibers Co.

MCS carpet from Weihai Haima Taiga Carpet Co - a new technical innovation that combines the advantages of both broadloom carpet and carpet tiles.

ZEA Flooring – a bio-based floor by LG Hausys made of corn-based bio-plastic, native rock flour cypress four, red clay, and citric acid derived from sugar cane and installed with red clay glue.
