Chinese textile body exchanges views with India & Pakistan

The Foreign Affairs arm of the China Textile Industry Association recently held a meeting with representatives of about 30 textile firms from India and Pakistan.
 
Representatives of over 40 leading Chinese textile enterprises too attended the meeting that saw exchange of views on yarn supply and trade and other matters.
 
Yang Zhaohua, chairman of China Textile Association, outlined the development and growth of China’s domestic textile industry in 2012. He said the Chinese textile industry produced surplus goods and there is huge scope for cooperation between Chinese and Indian enterprises.
 
Representatives of Pakistan textile firms presented the situation of Pakistan textile industry and put forward their views on international cotton price trends. They said cotton production has declined in Pakistan in recent years and the country imports some cotton from India, so that the prices of raw materials remain stable.
 
The chairman of the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council of India (TEXPROCIL) systematically presented the growth and development of the cotton textile industry in India. He also spoke on the Government of India’s cotton policy.
 
The meeting ended with the three sides expressing hope to carry out long-term cooperation in order to stabilize the market.
