PTA spot import prices rise in Chinese market

The spot prices of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) imports increased in China on May 14. Offers for Taiwanese PTA were in the range of US$ 1,060-1,065/ton, while bids from downstream manufacturers were around US$ 1,050/ton, and actual negotiations were in the range of US$1,055-1,060/ton.
 
Offers for Korean goods were in the range of US$ 1,050-1,055/ton, while bids from downstream manufacturers were in the range of US$ 1,040-1,045/ton, and actual negotiations were in the range of US$ 1,045-1,050/ton.
 
Meanwhile, in East China, the PTA spot market was flat on May 14. Sporadic offers from sellers were around 7,850 yuan/ton, while bids from downstream industries were about 7,800 yuan/ton, and actually negotiated prices were in the range of 7,800-7,850 yuan/ton.
 
In North China, the PTA market was flat and cargo holders offered price of 7,900 yuan/ton, while downstream manufacturers made bids for price of around 7,850 yuan/ton, and market negotiations were in the range of 7,850-7,900 yuan/ton.
