Chinese PTA spot import market remains stable

The market price of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) in terms of US dollars remained firm in China on May 21. Market offers for Taiwan supply were in the range of US$ 1,065-1,070/ton, bids from downstream buyers were in the range of US$ 1,050-1,055/ton, while negotiated price was around US$ 1,055/ton.
For Korean cargo, PTA offers were around US$ 1,065/ton, while negotiations were in the range of US$ 1,050-1,055/ton.
In East China, the spot price of PTA remained in the range of 7,850-7,900 yuan/ton on May 21. Bids from downstream manufactures were in the range of 7,750-7,800 yuan/ton, while market discussion maintained at 7,800 yuan/ton or slightly higher, in terms of delivery at buyer’s destination.
