Demand for all types of yarn remains weak in China

Currently, most textile and garment enterprises in China are facing a difficult situation with regards to production and management, in the face of rising inventories.

As such, the demand for all kinds of yarn is currently weak, and accordingly prices too remain weak amid steadiness.

The spot price of cotton is still relatively stable in recent days, which is preventing a significant decline in prices of textile products. But, cotton yarn market is lukewarm due to lack of orders. At present, the mainstream price of cotton yarn C32s is around 26,000 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade is in the range of 26,500-27,500 yuan/ton.

Meanwhile, there is a modest decline in prices of polyester staple fibre, but it has little effect on the prices of products containing polyester. Currently, the prices of polyester/cotton yarn are basically stable. The mainstream price of T63/C35 32s polyester/cotton yarn is around 19,500 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade is around 20,000 yuan/ton.

The price of viscose staple fibre in Chinese market is relatively stable in Chinese markets, which generally stabilizes the prices of downstream products. However, rayon yarn market is difficult to see a significant recovery due to lack of demand. Currently, the mainstream price of rayon yarn R30s is about 18,000 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade is around 18,500 yuan/ton.
