Nylstar to present first Hollow Fiber at Techtextil

Meryl Nexten is the leading and most recognized insulation fiber of the market. With a 30% rate of thermal insulation, it provides a +3ºC temperature perception. These characteristics make Meryl Nexten the ideal fiber for protective winter garments or for light and comfortable thermal underwear and hosiery.

Nylstar was the first European player to introduce a Polyamide Hollow Fiber back in 1994, making Nexten the lightest fiber in the textile industry. Ever since, textile manufacturers have demanded lighter and lighter fabrics across wovens, warp and weft knits, base layers and outwear. Hence, lightweight has become such an important focus that it can now be defined as a textile category in its own right.

Meryl Nexten and other products of the Nylstar brand have passed specific tests to guarantee their quality and dermatological safety and are OEKO-TEX certified. Meryl Nexten Plus also includes other features like quick dryness. Moreover, Staple Nexten is ideal for wool and cotton blends.

Odor Control, an added value – Meryl Nexten is a Polyamide 6.6 fiber, and its molecular nature has made possible to insert silver ions during the spinning process, providing freshness and odor control for the wearer.

According to the Sports Apparel Study, 60% of women would pay more for garments that remained odor-free. In fact, women were willing to pay a premium price of +40% for odor resistance.
