The response to the recently concluded 59th edition of Intermoda International Fair Mexico 2013 (IM) exceeded expectations and it attracted an estimated 23,000 buyers and visitors this year.

The expo held at Guadalajara, Mexico saw a participation of 950 exhibitors which indicated a growth of 5 percent compared to the previous edition.

President of the organizing committee of (IM) Intermoda, Mr. Jorge Castellanos said in a statement that the increase in buyers and visitors this year is the result of an efficient promotion which has made the event a success, especially due to the better use of social networks.

He added that the influx of visitors and buyers is also due to the new strategy of Trending IM, a concept that allows buyers to know the fashion trends in Mexico, directly from designers and manufacturers.

The expo had exhibitors from Latin America, Mexico, Europe and Asia as well as countries like Columbia, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Panama and Peru.

The 59th edition of Intermoda (IM) had assigned spaces for new talent and innovation in the fashion world by introducing the Designer’s Corner intended to promote commercially successful designers who already had a nationally recognized brand.

The ‘IM promotes new talent’ also had an exhibition area sponsored by Intermoda where young designers with interesting proposals could showcase their creations.

The bi-annual event also had participants from 12 Peruvian textile companies and 35 Colombian companies this year.

The first half of the year saw a growth of 11 percent in textile exports from Mexico, due to the increase in the participants at the January 2013 edition of the fair.

The international fair organized in Mexico is one of the most important events for fashion and apparel industry in the country. Exhibitors from all over the globe benefit from the opportunity of generating sales and making new business developments by attending the fair.
