Imported cotton prices rise sharply at Chinese main ports

The prices of imported cotton rose sharply at Chinese main ports last week.
 
The price of SM1-1/8 grade cotton from US was quoted at 99.35 cents/lb, which worked out to general trade port delivery price of 16,175 yuan/ton by sliding tax calculation on July 19.
 
The price of US E/MOT cotton was quoted at 97.35 cents/lb, equivalent to port delivery price of 15,938 yuan/ton. The price of E/MOTM1-3/32 grade cotton was quoted at 94.50 cents/lb, with port delivery price of 15,609 yuan/ton.
 
On July 19, the price of Australian cotton was quoted at 101.44 cents/lb at Chinese main ports, with delivery price of 16,427 yuan/ton.
 
Similarly, the price of Uzbek cotton was quoted at 100.91 cents/lb, with delivery price of 16,363 yuan/ton.
 
The price of West African cotton was quoted at 95.60 cents/lb, which worked out to delivery price of 15,735 yuan/ton.
 
The price of Indian cotton was the lowest at 92.70 cents/lb, with delivery price of 15,406 yuan/ton.
