Exciting line-up of seminars at Interstoff Asia Essential

Visitors to this year’s Interstoff Asia Essential Autumn Edition – the region’s leading trade fair for cutting-edge textiles, held from 25 to 27 September in Hong Kong – can look forward to an exciting line-up of seminars conducted by some of the world’s leading practitioners in their respective fields.

Plus, for the first time, the fair will be held concurrently with the Innovation and Technology Symposium 2013, which is organised by the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) and supported by Messe Frankfurt. This exciting event will take place on 26 September, and features the theme ‘The Future of Innovation’.

Every year the design and trend seminars at Interstoff Asia Essential draw the largest crowds, and this edition promises the same attraction. Held on 25 September, the day begins with the first-time involvement of the respected European magazine Sportswear International, with Editor-in-Chief, Sabine Kühnl presenting a seminar titled ‘Denim, Fashion and Sportswear Trends for A/W 2014’. Given the focus on functional fabrics for sportswear at this edition of the fair, this seminar will be topical and informative.

Following this will be another seminar with Laurent Le Mouël, Artistic Director of the NellyRodiTM Agency from France discussing the Autumn / Winter 2014-15 trends. The NellyRodiTM Agency is responsible for the design and creation of this year’s Trend Forum, so Mr Le Mouël’s insights into next season’s trends will prove invaluable for those looking to understand the future direction of textile styles and fashion.

Other design & trend seminars on day one include:

- ‘Global Retail Trends, Autumn Winter 2013/2014 Close to Season Womenswear Highlights’ by Vilislava Petrova, Head of Content, WGSN (UK)

- ‘PantoneView Colour Planner Winter 2014/15 – Discovery’ by Maryann Mei Wa Wong, Director of Sales & Marketing, Pantone LLC (Hong Kong)

- ‘The Wool Lab A/W 14-15’ by Florence Tang, Fashion Designer, The Woolmark Company (HK) Ltd (Hong Kong)
