CPC Corp begins ethylene production at No.6 cracker

Taiwan based CPC Corp has began commercial production of ethylene at its No.6 cracker.
“Commercial production started on August 14, 2013,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
The No.6 naphtha cracker has been built by CPC Corp to meet ethylene demand of the local industry.
The new cracker is currently operating at 40 percent operating rates, and by next month the cracker is expected to start operating at 100 percent capacity.
The project has been built at an estimated cost of over NT$ 46.9 billion, according to the company website.
The No. 6 cracker is located in Linyuan district of southern Taiwan, and it has a capacity to produce over 720,000 mt/year of ethylene.
