The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (IMTF) Annual Conference 2013, which brings together various textile associations from around the world, would focus on the changing relationship between producers and retailers in the difficult business environment faced by the global textile supply chain.

The conference, which is scheduled to be held from September 8 to 10, 2013 in the city of Bregenz in Austria, is based on the theme ‘Rebalancing the Power between Manufacturing and Retail’.

The three-day conference would include two fibre sessions on Cotton and Man-made fibres, five general sessions on E-Commerce, Europe’s Textile Industry, Textile Supply Chain, Technical Textiles, and Non-Wovens, as well as sessions on the Global Textile Machinery Market and China’s Textile Industry.

Representatives of several textile associations would be participating as speakers during the conference, including Terry Townsend, executive director of International Cotton Advisory Committee (US), Fritz Grobein, president of Bremen Cotton Exchange (Germany), Josue Gomes De Silva, President of ITMF (Brazil), Kai Hughes, managing director of International Cotton Association (Germany), Christian Schindler, director general of ITMF, and Sun Ruizhe, vice president of China National Textile & Apparel Council (CNTAC).

The ITMF conference is held with an intention to provide a forum for discussion on matters appropriately within the common interest and concern of textile companies, to provide a neutral meeting ground for textile trade associations for exchange of information on matters affecting their textile industries, consistent with the trade regulation laws of the nations represented, and to perform the functions of a liaison agent between the textile industries and governments and intergovernmental organizations interested in the textile industry.
