Patterned fabrics produced on the FL 20/16

The Fascination Lace machine has revolutionised the production of saris, i.e. it produces lightweight fabrics with an open structure into which the patterns are worked during the actual production process.

The decorative elements, which are arranged all over the fabric, protrude three-dimensionally from the filigree ground with its lattice construction. A subtle relief look is produced, similar to that of conventional embroidery. Therefore, the embroidery step no longer has to be carried out when producing simpler designs. Specific parts of the garment, such as the even more decorative shoulder piece at the end of the sari, can be worked directly into the fabric web on the FL 20/16.

16 pattern bars are available for producing the three-dimensional motifs, which are located in front of the four ground guide bars. Graphic pattern elements can be worked just as easily as decorative elements and every type of floral pattern.

The appearance of the net-like ground can also be worked so that it is more or less pronounced. This is the result of the patterning possibilities offered by the EL drives for the ground guide bars. The data system for joint management of the pattern and ground guide bars enables the ground lapping to also be changed within a repeat, without requiring a great deal of time and effort.

In addition to a wide range of marquisette looks, tulle constructions can also be produced in the ground on the FL 20/16. Yarns in graduated colours can also be processed to create additional effects. Dynamic coloured effects can therefore be produced by using multicoloured, space-dyed yarns, and combining single-colour with iridescent, coloured yarns produces an even wider range of different looks.

In addition to determining the appearance, the types of yarns processed also affect the comfort. For example, using polyamide in the ground in conjunction with a soft-touch finish gives the fabric a soft handle and a pleasant feel against the skin.
