Around 250 companies from 11 countries participated in the three-day ‘Preview in Seoul 2013’ (Seoul International Textile Fair) Korea that concluded recently.

‘Preview in Seoul’ is Korea's premier textile exhibition aiming to create superior value through promoting active exchanges and building partnership between global players and Korean textile and apparel companies.

With 40 companies, China had the largest overseas presence at the exhibition, which featured high added-value fibres, yarns, cotton, linen, denim, silks, wools, embroidery, functional fabrics, lace prints and findings/trims.

Owing to the growing concern for environment and health, the exhibition introduced high-tech, eco-friendly, high-touch textiles that have been developed in line with global trends.

In August 2013, South Korea’s exports grew by 7.7 year-on-year, significantly higher than expected, showing signs of stabilization and recovery of the Korean economy.

In 2012, South Korea exported textiles and clothing worth US$ 4.9 billion, while it imported textiles and apparel worth US$ 2.9 billion.
