European Textile Flagships Conference to begin from Oct 23

This event will showcase the progress that the seven European Textile Flagship initiatives have made after their first year of work.

Each flagship will be covered by a full day conference session featuring

(1) Objectives and results of the flagship,

(2) Major EU initiatives and funding programmes linked to this flagship,

(3) Major innovation and end market trends in each area and

(4) Some key technology developments inclusive results of EU projects.

The seven Textile Flagships for Europe cover the following topics: - Sustainable textile raw materials - alternative natural fibres, bio-polymers & recycling (24 October). From wet to dry - towards more flexible, sustainable and energy-efficient textile processing technologies (25 October).

Efficient manufacturing of textile-based 3D shaped materials and components (25 October). Multifunctional textile materials for energy-efficient, safe construction and new architectural solutions (24 October).

Innovative technical textiles for various marine applications and coastal protection (25 October). Innovative textile solutions for protection and efficiency in agriculture & landscaping (25 October) and the consumer-driven integrated digital textile & clothing factory (24 October)

In October, HORIZON 2020 the new EU research and innovation funding programme is expected to be fully adopted and ready to launch its first funding calls, which will be featured at the conference. In additional there will be scope for extensive networking and possibly some technology brokerage. EU projects will have a possibility to disseminate their results through presentations and information stands.
