APTMA to attend Pakistan German Business Forum in Germany

A twelve-member delegation of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association would be attending the two-day conference, organized by Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Germany, under the platform of the Pakistan German Business Forum (PGBF), scheduled to be held in Germany on October 30 and 31, 2013.

The PGBF is organized by the Association of German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), Berlin and the PGBF Karachi, in collaboration with Chamber of Commerce (IHK) Munich and foreign offices of both the countries.

The conference is aimed at match-making between Pakistani businessmen and prospective German investors in future. The Pakistan Ambassador to Germany, Cyril Nunn, would be hosting the two-day event.

APTMA chairman SM Tanveer said the Pakistani textile association has already been working with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), since 2008, and has set up a Sustainability Production Center in collaboration with the German organization.

The sustainability center has taken up a number of initiatives including the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project, water management project, social standard compliance, environmental protection, and corporate social responsibility besides training workshops for industrial technical staff from time to time.

Mr. Tanveer said the APTMA delegation would be participating in panel discussions on a number of topics including market access for Pakistan textile products under the EU GSP+, as well as investment climate in Pakistan, financial solutions, logistics and supply chain, and trade fairs.

The APTMA chairman hopes that the participation would facilitate and open up new business opportunities and vistas of German investment in Pakistan.

The conference would be held for two days, one day in the capital city of Berlin and one day in the city of Munich in Germany.
