Khimia is the largest chemical industry exhibition in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a region inhabited by almost 300 million people and home to several of the world’s fastest growing economies, such as Russia and Kazakhstan.
Khimia (“chemistry” in Russian) has been held every two years since its launch in 1965, covering such diverse topics as raw materials and equipment, plastics, biotechnology, plant design, research, and logistics.
This trade event is particularly important for Russia, a country stretching over 9,000 km and 11 time zones, as it provides a most convenient meeting platform for chemical suppliers, users and service providers in this logistically challenging part of the world.
The previous exhibition, Khimia-2011, had 600 exhibitors from 26 countries, and was attended by over 21,000 people, among them many senior managers including Arkema CEO Thierry Le Hénaff and Executive VP Michel Delaborde.
Arkema, through its Representative Office in Moscow, has been a Khimia exhibitor for many years. In 2013, as in all previous years, Khimia will be attended by all Moscow-based salespeople and many business managers from Europe. With many customer meetings on its stand, Arkema expects Khimia-2013 to strengthen its positions in Russia and the CIS.
A global chemical company and France’s leading chemicals producer, Arkema is building the future of the chemical industry every day. Deploying a responsible, innovation-based approach, we produce state-of-the-art specialty chemicals that provide customers with practical solutions to such challenges as climate change, access to drinking water, the future of energy, fossil fuel preservation and the need for lighter materials.
