The Industrial Price Index (IPRI) for Spanish textiles increased by 0.4 percent year-on-year in September  2013, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

However, the IPRI in manufacture of apparel segment showed a decline of 1.2 percent in the month of September, compared to the same month in 2012.

According to the INE data, the IPRI of the overall manufacturing industry of Spain, which includes the manufacturing of textiles and apparel, saw an increase of 0.1 percent in the month of September, compared to the same period last year.

Overall, the annual rate of the IPRI for the month of September in the country stands at 0.1 percent which is two tenths over the IPRI registered in August, 2013.

IPRI measures the monthly change in prices of industrial products manufactured and sold. The index measures ex-factory selling prices that do not include expenses incurred on marketing, transportation and value-added tax (VAT).

The INE is the official organization in Spain that collects statistics about demography, economy, and Spanish society. It is an autonomous organization in Spain responsible for overall coordination of statistical services of the General State Administration in monitoring, control and supervision of technical procedures.
