Martelli launches eco-friendly fabric finishing techniques

Cutting waste and gaining benefits: D.ECO.R is the brand-new platform developed by Martelli, the international group symbol of the Italian creativity in finishing techniques, dedicated to research and usage of low-environmental impact technical and creative solutions, which made most of the processes performed in its facilities more sustainable, with significant results and benefits for the entire textile and clothing industry.

With D.ECO.R, Martelli – a brand that is always in search of the most up-to-date aesthetic solutions for people, resources and environment – promotes a style in which fashion and sustainability can peacefully coexist, and where energy, water, emissions, and chemical waste significantly decrease while research, eco-creativity, saving of money and healthiness grow.

Such a choice is the symbol of the eco-sustainable philosophy of a Group that has been committed for years in supervising the resources, both human and environmental, used in its facilities.

Martelli’s factories are well equipped for emissions control and waste disposal, thus ensuring safety for the employees and continual research of eco-friendly solutions to reduce the use of chemicals and the waste of water and energy.

With D.ECO.R., Martelli keeps on increasing its commitment, rewarding innovation and research on every fabric and promoting eco-friendly solutions such ozone washings – which allow a significant decrease of warm water and chemicals – ice finishing – performed on an internally modified machine which gives results very similar to traditional washings and a process where ice is produced from recovered CO2 – and laser processes, allowing a targeted intervention on the fabric with original and valued results and a significant reduction of waste.

D.ECO.R represents another important step forward toward a growing sustainability, a project that enhances Martelli’s commitment to the environment through a platform whose results are available for the most renowned players of the international panorama.
